Missouri: Raise The Age!

Missouri is one of the seven remaining states that has “Raised the Age” of adult court jurisdiction to 18. Currently, all 17 year olds in the Show Me State are tried as adults, regardless of the offense.

Legislation in Missouri, HB 274, was heard in the state House Judiciary Committee on February 28. HB 274 aims to keep these 17 year olds in the juvenile system, where they will face more accountability for their actions, and be given more support for their rehabilitation.
